Everyday Evangelism - Crayons Tell the Story

I was excited to see that I have almost enough money saved up for my next toy that I will put the Gospel message on (or a message explaining who God is). I was looking through some files I had collected when researching items that could be imprinted. The crayons would cost around $400 (one color only though) for 500 boxes of them. I would put this saying on it: 'God is uncreated. He never had a beginning and has always been in existence." Then there would be enough room to put my wordless color story blog url underneath that. www.thecolorfulstory.blogspot.com . I can't wait to give them out, but, I probably should give out some kind of coloring page with them. Hmmm. Maybe, I can design my own. Any ideas? This is what the trick or treaters will get next October. This is what I will give out at the parades. I will still give the beach balls and maracas out too. Those all have a message on them that points to the Gospel along with a url. I love being creative. Plus, I get to use my wordless color Gospel page for people to go to if they want to learn more. When I get them made up and imprinted, I'll take a picture and post it.

Everyday Evangelism - Harper's Last Convert - 1912

Harper's Last Convert

  All of us have heard something about the Titanic, which sank, after hitting an iceberg. The Titanic hit an iceberg on April 14, 1912, and many lost their lives because of that accident. There were a few survivors though, and the last one died May 31, 2009. There were a few who were able to tell the story of what happened from their perspective.
  An unidentified Scotsman told his story in Ontario one night, while he was telling people about his conversion at a prayer meeting. This is how his story goes:
  This man was on the Titanic the night it ran into the iceberg. He was holding onto a piece of debris in the frozen waters. Suddenly a wave brought a man near (John Harper). The man was also holding a piece of wreckage.
  The man shouted to him, " Man, are you saved?"
The other man replied back, "No I am not."
  Harper shouted back 'Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved."
Harper was then taken away by the waves. Then the waves brought him back to the man. Harper then asked him, 'Are you saved now?"
"No," The man replied.
  Harper then repeated, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved." Harper was not seen after that. But the man told the people at the prayer meeting, "There alone in the night with two miles of water under me, I trusted Christ as my saviour. I am John Harper's last convert."

Everyday Evangelism - What if Revival Broke Out?

  I am thinking about the Man from George Street (Frank Jenner) from the Youtube video entitled, "I got off at George Street". (You can do a search for the video and several choices will come up). There are actually two different videos called by the same name and one of them is authentic. The other one is based on the story but is embellished quite a bit! This man, Frank Jenner, went down to George Street in Sydney, Australia, every day for many years. He gave out tracts to people and shared the Gospel with some of them. Many of them took the tracts and became disturbed because they were now aware of the fact that if they died in their sins, they would go to hell forever. After the encounter with Frank Jenner, those who took the message to heart went to a pastor or friend to ask them more questions about the Gospel and their relationship to God. Many were brought to Christ that way. Some of these people started ministries. Frank Jenner never realized how many people he ended up ministering to when he gave the tracts out during his lifetime!
    In a similar way, we here in America can so the same thing. What if we gave tracts out to people and talked to people who have questions about their salvation? If we all we open to sharing the Gospel with people, what would our communities look like ten years from now? Twenty years? Fifty years? What if I gave a tract to somebody tomorrow, and a couple of months later another person gives them a tract, or gives an open air message in which that person hears the Gospel again? Maybe he will sit down and read a Gideon Bible while staying at a motel, then perhaps he will move into a neighborhood where true Christians live? What if we all did our little part in promoting the Gospel, whether it be by giving out a tract, or sharing the Gospel in person or on the phone with a salesperson? There are so many ways to promote the Gospel. What does God want us to do? Let's ask God to give us hearts that will love the Gospel ourselves, and hearts that will have compassion for lost people. What if we did this and revival came to America? Let's be faithful in seeking God's heart in this.
"But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Then he said to his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray therefore that the Lord of the harvest, will send forth labourers into his harvest."
Matthew 9:36-38
